2nd International Virtual & Multidisciplinary Perspectives on Complex Trauma and its Treatment - 2020

Regrettably, due to the Covid-19 outbreak, we were unable to go ahead with our 'International & Multidisciplinary Perspectives on Complex Trauma and its Treatment' in April. Our mission is to support professionals who work with complex trauma and this world-wide crisis has already affected both professionals and clients in this field of work. Therefore, to continue our work in the safest way possible and share our experience, knowledge and expertise we have decided to host our first Virtual Conference on the 4th of July (2020).   We understand that some of you are still adapting to new ways of working online and that there are challenges ahead. We appreciate the differences between meeting face to face and online and feel a loss at not being able to welcome you to our event in person. Having said this, we also hope that the virtual conference will have its opportunities and benefits by being more adaptable to our current situations and that you can join us from your homes.    Most therapists have faced the decision of adapting to the Covid-19 outbreak and moved their work to online platforms. This has presented with many challenges, adjustment and debates but it has also brought many benefits and new opportunities. Our priority is to support professionals to work effectively and safely. Therefore, we have adapted some of our conference presentations to focus on shifting our work online.  The presentations are facilitated by UK-based and International professionals in the field of complex trauma. We will have clinicians sharing their experience from Germany, Canada, Ireland and the UK.

Our online conference was initially going to take place at the University of York on the 3rd of April 2020. Due to Covid-19, we decided to host our first online conference. 11. 'Understanding Re-traumatisation'  Presenter: Dr. Robert Davies is a Research Associate at University of York. He completed his PhD at the Department of Philosophy at York in 2017. His research focuses on memory and self-knowledge, and includes clinical and non-clinical examples of cognitive effects, biases, and unusual epistemic phenomena.
